The privacy of your information is important to Al-Shumul Islamic Microfinance Bank, and therefore we are committed to ensuring the privacy of their information. Accordingly:

We protect any information provided to us by our customers according to the strictest standards of security and confidentiality.

We limit the amount and use of information to the minimum required to provide high-level services to our customers, including informing them of our products, services and other opportunities available to them, as well as to manage our business.

Location and Location Data Policy:

Services that rely on location by using location-based methods based on satellites, mobile communications devices or any other network. They are linked to the location-based systems that the bank relies on when you use our services and features based on location, such as searching for branches and ATMs or our advertisements by location, noting that all this information is used to identify you personally without your consent that you agree to all of the above.

 

Shamil Islamic Microfinance Bank Data Privacy Notice.

1. Overview

Shamil Islamic Microfinance Bank (“Shamil Bank” or “the Bank” or “we”) is committed to protecting your privacy and personal data and providing the highest standards of data protection, and therefore the provisions of this notice are in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law in the Republic of Yemen, and accordingly, the provisions of this notice reflect the requirements that comply with the Personal Data Protection System in the Republic of Yemen. Personal data can be defined as any information, regardless of its source or form, that can lead to the specific identification of an individual, or make it possible to identify him directly or indirectly. The definition includes a wide range of personal identifiers that constitute personal data, including, but not limited to, your name, address, photo, etc.

2. Purpose

The purpose of this notice is to help you understand the personal data that we collect, use, store, share or process during and after we serve you. This notice also explains the legal bases that we follow when we do so. Furthermore, this notice explains the various measures we implement to protect your personal data and reduce the possibility of unauthorized use, disclosure and destruction.

3. Your Personal Data

We will collect and use your personal data to the extent necessary to achieve a high level of personalized products and services. We may collect different types of personal data, including but not limited to, information about your national identity/residence, contact information, education level, employment history, marital status, digital activity, financial information, sensitive data etc., through different channels (e.g. website, mobile application, chats, emails, device identifiers, identifier addresses etc.). We may use the collected personal data for various purposes such as: (providing products and services, conducting market research, improving your experience, preventing unauthorized activities, enhancing security and improving IT performance, managing complaints, executing contracts, complying with the system, etc.). In circumstances where we rely on your consent as a legal basis for processing your data (please refer to Section 4), we will provide you with full details of the information we will request and we will explain the reason for the processing. For example, but not limited to: (to provide a service or to open a bank account). This will allow you to carefully choose whether or not you wish to consent to the processing of your personal data. Where we ask for your consent to use and/or share your personal data, you have the right to refuse to provide us with such consent (based on your rights in section 8). If you refuse to provide us with your consent (where required/necessary) for us to process/share your data to provide you with a particular service, we may be unable to provide you with the products or services requested.

4. Legal bases

We will only collect and use your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law in the Republic of Yemen. In most cases, we will rely on one of the following bases:

– Processing based on consent.

– When the processing serves the interest of the data subject and contacting him or her is impossible or difficult to achieve.

– When the processing is under another law or in implementation of a previous agreement to which the personal data subject is a party.

– If the controller is a public authority and such processing is required for security purposes or to meet judicial requirements.

5. Sharing and transferring personal data

We may share your personal data with internal parties (including, but not limited to, parties within the Al-Shumul Islamic Microfinance Bank Group) and external parties (outside the Al-Shumul Bank Group) (including, but not limited to, regulators, service providers and other parties) so that we can process to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes set out in this notice. In some circumstances permitted by law, this may involve transferring your personal data outside the Republic of Yemen. Such transfers will be carried out in accordance with the law. We would like to inform you that if any personal information is transferred outside the region, we will take all necessary steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards are implemented to maintain the levels of protection set out in the Yemeni Personal Data Protection Law.

6. Data Security

We have taken appropriate security measures to:

– Prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, accessed in an unauthorized way, altered or disclosed (such as, but not limited to, access control, network security, communications security, etc.).

– Deal with any suspected personal data breaches, and we will notify you and the regulator of breaches in accordance with the Yemeni Personal Data Protection Law.

7. Data Retention

We will retain your personal data for the period permitted by the Personal Data Protection Law and we will retain your data for the period that allows us to fulfill our operational obligations (such as maintaining bank accounts, facilitating customer relationship management, responding to legal requirements or regulatory requests, etc.).

8. Your Rights

Under certain circumstances, you may have different rights in relation to your personal data that we process and retain. Please see a summary of your rights below:

– The right to be informed.

– The right to access your personal data that we hold.

– The right to request correction of your personal data available to us.

9. Social Media

We at Shumul Islamic Microfinance Bank manage channels, pages and accounts on social media sites so that we can assist you and interact with you regarding improving our products and services. Please do not share any personal information on our social media sites. If you wish to communicate with us, please contact us via ([email protected]). Shumul Islamic Microfinance Bank will not be responsible for any information published on those sites other than information published by the Bank’s employees on behalf of the Bank.

10. Marketing

Based on your consent, we may use your personal data for marketing purposes to inform you about our products and services. You can ask us to stop sending you marketing messages by following the unsubscribe link in any marketing message sent to you or by contacting Shumul Bank’s Customer Service Department (8000977 / [email protected]) or the Data Protection Team ([email protected]) at any time. When you opt out of receiving these marketing messages, we will stop sending them altogether.


11. Your Use of Our Site
